I have about 21 “squares” worth of roofing to be removed and installed. I’ve received a bid for $5200 to eliminate and substitute with 30yr. Arc Shingles from GAF/ELK+ ridge vents and shingle mate felt. So, the whole project to haul off and set up is roughly $250 for each square. Does this audio honest to those of you that have had roofing replaced? I Am in Atlanta area.

My grandma lives in Atlanta and she nearly obtained hit by the tornado that reached downtown Atlanta. Her roof collapsed even though she was paying her vacation in California. Will the weather maintain acquiring even worse and worse? The weather’s not a issue for me, but it’s a difficulty with my grandma who has serious arthritis and has 2 blood cots in her brain. Must she move?

I am buying a 5 year old house near Atlanta. My last house in Atlanta built in the ’50′s had powder post beetles in the roof decking and we had to replace most of the roof decking. Should I have my newer home checked for that? It has a termite protection but nothing about those beetles.
